​Love, Peace and Sweaty Raver Hugs with Staleloaf

From the first time DJ Staleloaf stepped onto a dancefloor in 1991, electronic music changed his life. His early days were defined by the energy and community of UK hardcore at legendary nights like Welly Club, Howden Diztruxion, and Doncaster Warehouse. These places shaped his musical DNA, planting the seeds of his lifelong love for electronic music in all its forms.

As the era shifted, so did his tastes - gravitating towards the melodic sounds of house and techno and finding his second home at events in and around Leeds. After a break from the scene, Staleloaf's passion was reignited thanks to discovering Fabric CDs, which pulled him straight back into the embrace of dance music culture.

2017 marked a big year: he returned to Hull, became a father, and a few years after that, co-founded the Renegade Free Party Sound System, helping to bring underground vibes back to the city. Two years ago, he joined LEG~IT!, contributing to countless events and building communities with a shared love for music and common principles of inclusion.

DJ Staleloaf is now part of the Venn Radio team, bringing the same commitment to every set - curating journeys through melodic house and techno that reflect both the joys and the tensions of love. His sets are all about connection: creating spaces for love, peace, and those unforgettable sweaty raver hugs.

Hull, he believes, is the UK’s answer to Detroit - a city with a fiercely diverse, creative, and collaborative music scene that deserves to be celebrated. He is proud to be part of this movement and even prouder to shout about what our city has to offer.
